Arguably the best Hyundai sold in USA to date, the fourth-generation Sonata impressed with its pleasant styling inside and out, big quality and presentation strides and amenable – though far from class-leading – driving dynamics. Two engines driving the front wheels were again offered – a new 118kW/219Nm 2.4-litre twin-cam 16-valve four-cylinder unit, as well as a new 3.3-litre DOHC 24V variable-valve V6 delivering 173kW and 304Nm.
